The Banach-Tarski Paradox

In Spring 2019, I participated in the Washington Directed Reading Program, which paired graduate students with undergrads for 1 : 1 reading projects.   At the end of the program, the undergraduates presented their studies to each other.  The topic I chose was the Banach-Tarski Paradox.  We used the excellent book by Grzegorz Tomkowicz and Stan Wagon.  This has led to an enduring interest in 'paradoxical' sets such as Besicovitch sets, Kakeya sets, and Nikodym sets.
